SENIOR DEMOLAY FROM SAN PEDRO FIRST BENEFICIARY OF “BLOOD FOR LIFE” BLOODLETTING DRIVE.
A distressed charter member of San Pedro Chapter Order of DeMolay became the first recipient of the “Blood For Life” bloodletting drive, sponsored by the Manila Mt. Lebanon Lodge No. 1 last September 27, 2020 at the Grand Lodge of the Philippines.
Bro Mark Aurelio G. Marquez, KT was confined in the Intensive Care Unit of the Unihealth Paranque Hospital last September 23, 2020 and due to his condition, needed 1 unit of AB+ blood for immediate transfusion because of low blood hemoglobin levels and because he needed to undergo immediate medical procedure.
Immediately, brethren from the San Pedro DeMolay Alumni Chapter No. 32, of which Bro Mark was also a member, sprung into action to help a brother in distress and contacted the President of General Douglas MacArthur DeMolay Alumni Chapter No. 5, Bro Kent Parrilla, KT for assistance.
Bro Kent Parrilla got in touch with Manila Mt. Lebanon Lodge No.1 regarding the request of the brethren from San Pedro DAC No. 32. Manila Mt. Lebanon Lodge No. 1, in return, got in touch with their partners in the Dugong Alay Dugtong Buhay Foundation and endorsed the request.
On the evening of September 27, 2020, after the culmination of the “Blood For Life” bloodletting drive, Brother Mark Gomez received the much needed 1 unit of AB+ blood courtesy of Sir Nap Marilag and Sir Kirk Chua Ong of Dugong Alay Dugtong Buhay Foundation, making him the first beneficiary of the said project.
San Pedro Chapter Order of DeMolay and San Pedro DeMolay Alumni Chapter No. 32 professed their profound thanks and appreciation, on social media, to the following; Manila Mt. Lebanon Lodge No. 1, Dugong Alay Dugtong Buhay Foundation, Biak Na Bato Lodge No. 7, and Gen. Douglas MacArthur DeMolay Alumni Chapter No. 5 for the assistance it got for a distressed brother in need. Charity in this situation, begun at home.
