“Napapasigaw at nasisigawan ko kayo dahil you matter to me. Like you, mahal ko ang DeMolay. Nothing personal.”
These were the words of Legionnaire Brother Joel Lamangan during a lull in yesterday’s practice and rehearsals at the Social Hall of the Scottish Rites Temple in preparation for the Centennial Celebrations of the Order of DeMolay on March 16 at the PICC.
The realities of an honest-to-goodness directing came as a moment of learning for most of the brethren who were neophytes at it but were quick to adjust after putting at heart the endearing words from the veteran and renowned producer, director and filmmaker. Bro. Lamangan is a product of the Emmanuel Baja Chapter in Cavite.
Active and Senior DeMolay brethren present and who had roles to play gave their all wholeheartedly. Also present during the practice and rehearsals were SCOD Grand Master Edison Abella, LOH, DGC who was spending his birthday, and Leg. Eric Atanacio, the Centennial Committee Chairman.
To cut the story short, the day went progressively well. The next practice and rehearsals will be on Friday, March 8. Veñue to be announced.
