On July 24, 2022, Brethren of Lapu-Lapu Chapter No.5 and Cebu DeMolay Alumni Chapter alongside the Dad Masons of Crescent Masonic Lodge No. 419 traveled North to the Municipality of Tabuelan in the Province of Cebu to convene a Community Outreach Program and Coastal Cleanup on the public beach of Barangay Maravilla.
The Coastal Cleanup started at 6:00AM on the whole shore of the Public Beach of Barangay Maravilla. With the efforts of every collaborated organization, a total of over 10 Full Sacks of Trash were collected and disposed. After a short breakfast break, the Community Outreach Program was held at a nearby covered court at 10:00AM. A total of over 150 families were gathered by the Barangay Officials to receive Bundles of Joy, Vitamins and Slippers. The Feeding Program was also arranged by the Tabuelan Police Officials with unlimited lugaw for all the families present.
Many organizations took part in these programs as well. To name a few: Students of UCLM College of Criminology, Tabuelan Police Station and Barangay Maravilla Officials. The Barangay Captain expressed his gratitude during his speech at the conclusion of the Outreach program. The organizations that took part in this Program were then presented with certificates courtesy of the Barangay.
The Community Outreach Program and Coastal Cleanup was a significant and successful starting activity for Term 2022-B. It was not only a memorable and experiential moment for the newly conferred brethren of the Chapter but also a big step for the Active Members of Lapu-Lapu Chapter No. 5 as they yearn to recover from the lack of activities during the pandemic and the previous Typhoon Odette which hit a big part of the province of Cebu.
