A DeMOLAY IS NEXT AFP CHIEF

A member of the Order of DeMolay of the Feliciano Iñigo Chapter (FIC) in Davao City will be the 52nd Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

Lt. Gen. Noel S. Clement assumes the post on Tuesday, September 24 vice Gen. Benjamin R. Madrigal Jr. who has reached the retirement age of 56. Both are “mistah” or batchmates in the Philippine Military Academy’s Class 1985 or the Sandiwa Class.

The combat-seasoned Brother General is currently the military commander of the AFP Central Command based in Cebu City. His presidential appointment as the next AFP top brass was announced by Malacañang on Friday, September 20. He is set to retire in four months or in January 2020.

During his active DeMolay years at the FIC in the late 70s his Chapter Dads were VW Roberto C. Reyes (a SCOD PGM and father of Bro. Rodel Riezl SJ Reyes, SCOD PGM) and VW Ernesto P. Ortonio.
