The Knights Templar, together with the 23rd and last Grand Master of the Knights Templar, Jacques De Molay, were simultaneously arrested in Paris by order of King Philip IV of France in league with the Pope Clement V. The Templars were later tortured and forced to confess to charges of heresy.
