A good number of Master Masons pledged their support to the Order of DeMolay in the Philippines when they signed up as Frank S. Land Centennial Fellows under the DeMolay Crusades during the 21st Multi-District Convention held on September 7-8, 2018 in Cotabato City.
In a printed message in the convention program, Hon. Edison Abella, Grand Master of the Supreme Council, Order of DeMolay (SCOD), congratulated the officers and members of the three Masonic Lodges of Masonic District Region XII for hosting the stated event, which was participated by hundreds of delegates coming from the different Masonic Lodges all over Southern Mindanao. He also extended his fraternal greetings and best wishes to the Brethren and their families who also attended the affair. Grand Master Abella further conveyed his sincere appreciation to the Master Masons of the Sponsoring Masonic Bodies, who had committed their time, efforts and resources to support and guide the young members of the DeMolay Chapters in Mindanao.
The Order of DeMolay is an international youth organization with the vision and goal of building good character and teaching leadership skills among young boys, from ages 12-21 years old, thus, making them good sons, better men, responsible citizens and able leaders for the future. DeMolay members take part in a wide-range of wholesome activities, from athletic competitions to public speaking tournaments, leadership training, summer camps, fund raising events, and community service projects.
DeMolay Legionnaire Adriano B. Durano III, Deputy Grand Master of the Supreme Council, Order of DeMolay, who represented Grand Master Abella, together with Legionnaire Eric Atanacio, Chairman of the DeMolay Centennial Anniversary Committee of SCOD and with the Executive Officers of SCOD in the Mindanao Jurisdiction, personally expressed his thanks to all of the Master Masons coming from the Masonic Lodges in Mindanao, who pledged and and signed up as Frank S. Land Centennial Fellows under the DeMolay Crusades, which is a parallel activity in support of the worldwide celebration of the 100th Year or Centennial Founding Anniversary of the International Order of DeMolay in March 2019.
The Frank S. Land Centennial Fellow is an once-in-a-lifetime membership category that allows Master Masons to show their continued support to the Order of DeMolay in the Philippines by making an investment to its future. Donations to the DeMolay Crusades shall establish the first ever Philippine DeMolay Trust Fund that aims to promote and sustain the growth and expansion of the DeMolay Movement in the Philippines in the next 100 years.
