GDM DAC No. 5 SUPPORTS “BLOOD FOR LIFE”

Members of the General Douglas MacArthur DeMolay Alumni Chapter No. 5 of the National Capital Region lent major support to the bloodletting drive sponsored by the Manila Mt. Lebanon Lodge No. 1 F&AM last Sunday, September 27, 2020 at the Aguinaldo Hall of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of the Philippines.

The bloodletting drive dubbed as “Blood For Life”, was undertaken by the Manila Mt. Lebanon Lodge No. 1 in cooperation with the Philippine Tiu-Gan Family Association and the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of the Philippines and in partnership with Dugong Alay Dugtong Buhay Foundation. “Blood For Life” was, likewise, ably supported by MW Agapito S. Suan Jr, Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of the Philippines.

Members of the GDMDAC No. 5, led by its Chapter President Bro Kent Parrilla, volunteered themselves to serve as marshals, food and snacks distributors and sanitation assistants. Some members volunteered to donate blood, while others made themselves available as registration personnel for the bloodletting activity which started at 7 o’clock in the morning and ended around 1 o’clock in the afternoon.

Spotted during the event were the following Grand Line Officers of the Supreme Council Order of DeMolay; Grand Junior Councilor Bro Albert V. Manlulu, who is a Past Master of Manila Mt. Lebanon Lodge No. 1, Jurisdictional Deputy Grand Master for Luzon, Bro Ericson B. Atanacio, the current Junior Warden of Manila Mt. Lebanon Lodge No. 1 and Grand Seventh Preceptor Bro Donnie P. Cordero of Manila Mt. Lebanon Lodge No. 1

Also present to lend their support were members of Escudo DeMolay Alumni Chapter No. 4 (NCR), led by its President Bro Jonas Domingo and Vice President Bro Kenneth Trobaugh, who proceeded directly to the said bloodletting activity after the culmination of their feeding activity in Quezon City that same morning.

Master Masons from various lodges, DeMolays from various chapters, service personnel from the military service and police force, members of motorcycle groups and members of various socio-civic groups were on hand to donate blood. Facilitating the bloodletting activity were medical frontline personnel from the Chinese General Hospital and the Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital respectively.

Manila Mt. Lebanon Lodge No. 1, under the leadership of its Worshipful Master Raul Reyes, was glad to announce that they were able to successfully collect 178 bags of donated blood for the said activity. “Blood For Life” is a charity project of Manila Mt. Lebanon Lodge No.1 in line with the continuing celebration of their 119th Founding Anniversary this year.
