During the installation of officers or founding anniversaries of DeMolay Chapters or in any event or activity of the Grand Lodge of the Philippines or Masonic Lodges, Grand Master Edison Abella and the other Grand Life Officers, including the Executive Officers of the Regions, of the Supreme Council, Order of DeMolay (SCOD) always take the opportunity to talk about the upcoming 100th Year Founding Anniversary of the Order of DeMolay and to invite Active and Senior DeMolays, including Master Masons, to support SCOD’s DeMolay Centennial Crusades as either a Louis Gordon Lower Centennial Fellow (for Active DeMolays), Jacques DeMolay Centennial Fellow (for Senior DeMolays) or Frank S. Land Centennial Fellow (for Master Masons).
The Centennial Fellows under the DeMolay Crusades are once-in-a-lifetime membership categories that allow Active and Senior DeMolays, including Master Masons, to show their continued support to the Order of DeMolay in the Philippines by making an investment to its future. Donations to the DeMolay Crusades shall establish the first ever Philippine DeMolay Trust Fund that aims to promote and sustain the growth and expansion of the DeMolay Movement in the Philippines in the next 100 years.
In response to this call of support, Active DeMolays Theodore Aldrich Atanacio and Frederick Emmanuel Atanacio, both Charter members of Dasmariñas Chapter, signed up as Louis Gordon Lower Centennial Fellows. Grand Master Abella received their membership forms and payments on August 23, 2018 at the Philippine DeMolay Youth Center in Manila.
To date, several Active DeMolays from the following DeMolay Chapters have signed up as Jacques DeMolay Centennial Fellows: Gen. Douglas MacArthur (Manila), Dasmarinas (Dasmariñas, Cavite), Lapu-Lapu (Cebu City), Graciano Lopez Jaena (Iloilo City), Feliciano Iñigo (Davao City), Daguma Mt. Range (Tacurong City), Timberland (San Francisco, Davao del Sur), and Basilan (Isabela City, Basilan). The SCOD also received pledges for memberships from Active DeMolays coming from the following DeMolay Chapters: Pinatubo (San Narciso, Zambales), Timberland (San Francisco, Davao del Sur), and A. Mabini (Parañaque City).
GM Abella is encouraging the other Active DeMolays to become Jacques DeMolay Centennial Fellows and hopes that all DeMolay Chapters will be aptly represented after the deadline on January 11, 2019. Jacques DeMolay Centennial Fellows shall receive one free entrance ticket and one free raffle ticket for a brand new car during the Grand DeMolay Centennial Banquet to be held on March 16, 2019 at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City. Also, the names of all Jacques DeMolay Centennial Fellows shall be etched in a permanent DeMolay Centennial Marker at the lobby of the Philippine DeMolay Youth Center in Manila.
