The Tomas L. Cabili Chapter No. 13 recently celebrated its Golden Anniversary in a grand ceremony held at the Ubaldo D. Laya Masonic Temple in Iligan City, Philippines. This momentous occasion honored both the chapter itself and its dedicated members who have served for 25 and 50 years in the DeMolay service.

The event began with a warm welcome from Dad Cesar T. Miguel, the President of the DeMolay Alumni Iligan Chapter. He extended his greetings to the chapter members, the sisters from the Job’s Daughters International Bethel No. 5, and the Maranaw Bodies, the sponsoring body of the TLCC. Dad Miguel’s words set the tone for the evening, emphasizing the importance of unity and brotherhood in their shared journey.

Dad Pat D. Noel took the stage to share the rich history of the Tomas L. Cabili Chapter, meticulously highlighting its past achievements, the remarkable camaraderie among the brethren, the unwavering support of the Dad Masons throughout the last 50 years, and the numerous projects and programs that have defined the chapter. His presentation showcased how the Tomas L. Cabili Chapter has evolved into one of the most esteemed chapters within the organization.

The Supreme Council, Order of DeMolay, lent their support to the momentous celebration, with special acknowledgment from the Grand Master, Hon. Edward Y. Chua. Unfortunately, due to adverse weather conditions in the country, the Grand Master was unable to deliver his message in person. Dad Alan U. Buenaventura graciously relayed the Grand Master’s heartfelt words, expressing his hope for continued success and growth of the Tomas L. Cabili Chapter over the next 50 years. Grand Master Chua emphasized the significance of each member’s role in shaping the future of the Order and the country, urging them to uphold the principles and values that DeMolay stands for.

The occasion also saw the presentation of prestigious awards to deserving members. The Founder’s Membership Award (FMA) was bestowed upon Bro. Giuseppe Louise E. Ocaya, PMC, Bro. Jaypee B. Barcenal, PMC, Bro. Poni Mari A. Gulang, KT, Bro. Dave William E. Almonia, Bro. Gabriel Matthew S. Cagalawan, Bro. Ian Karl E. Teatro, and Bro. Hussein C. Macadatar for their remarkable contributions. Additionally, the Blue Honor Key Award (BHK) was granted to Bro. Al Shuraim D. Dipatuan and Bro. Gabriel Cagalawan for their outstanding dedication and service.

The 50th Anniversary celebration would not have been possible without the unwavering support of the DeMolay Alumni Iligan Chapter and the Masonic District Region X BARMM Lanao Provinces, particularly the Advisory Council and the sponsoring body, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Orient of Lanao. Their contributions played a vital role in making the event a resounding success, and their continued support will undoubtedly shape the chapter’s future endeavors.

To conclude the momentous occasion, Dad Johnny T. Chen, Chairman of the Advisory Council, offered his closing remarks, urging the chapter to persist in their commitment to serving both the brethren and the community. He encouraged engagement in civic and social activities, reminding everyone that the Tomas L. Cabili Chapter had achieved numerous milestones in 2023 alone. With a renewed sense of purpose and dedication, the chapter members were inspired to continue their impactful work.

The Golden Anniversary celebration of the Tomas L. Cabili Chapter No. 13 served as a testament to the power of brotherhood and the enduring spirit of service exemplified by the DeMolay organization.
