Last Father’s Day, the Don Severino M. Delas Alas Centennial Chapter No. 107 of the Order of DeMolay hosted a memorable event that brought together members and advisors in a spirit of camaraderie and competition. The occasion was a basketball game pitting the brethren against the DeMolay Advisors of Indang Masonic Lodge No. 115, Free and Accepted Masons. This friendly match was more than just a game; it was a celebration of the enduring bond between fathers and their children, a bond that the Order of DeMolay cherishes and promotes.
The Order of DeMolay, known for its teachings on character and leadership, places a special emphasis on filial love. This love, which is the deep affection and respect between parents and their children, is a cornerstone of the organization’s values. Brother Peter Winzley A. Blasco, a member of the chapter, highlighted the importance of recognizing the profound influence fathers have on their children’s lives. He noted that the lessons and love imparted by fathers shape the way young men view their relationships with their guardians, instilling values of respect, loyalty, and compassion.
As children grow and take on the role of parents themselves, the love and lessons from their fathers continue to guide them. This intergenerational impact is a testament to the enduring power of filial love. The Order of DeMolay believes that fathers deserve recognition for the unwavering support, care, and love they provide to their families.
This year’s Father’s Day celebration was an opportunity to honor fathers and reflect on the significant role they play in our lives. The event was a reminder that the love of a father is a guiding force that shapes the future, influencing the way we raise our own children and the kind of men we strive to become.
The Order of DeMolay stands as a beacon for young men, guiding them through the portals of their youth to become better men. By celebrating Father’s Day, the organization reinforces the importance of filial love and the lasting legacy of a father’s influence. As we move forward, let us carry with us the lessons of love, respect, and compassion that our fathers have taught us, and let us strive to be the kind of men they would be proud of.
