DeMolay Philippines, Rainbow, and Job’s Daughters Host GLP Flag Raising Ceremony

On August 5, 2024, in Manila, the Masonic Youth, spearheaded by DeMolay Philippines, convened at the Grand Lodge of the Philippines (GLP) Grounds for a reverent flag raising ceremony, despite the wet and rainy conditions that marked the first Monday of August. The ceremony drew a notable gathering, including Honorable Grand Master Raymund Joseph Ian “Raji” O. Mendoza and other esteemed officials such as the Grand Line Officers, Executive Officers, Deputy Executive Officers, Frank S. Land Fellows, and members of the Supreme Council. Additionally, the attendance of both active and senior DeMolays, along with Alumni members, demonstrated the profound dedication within the organization.

The ceremony was not limited to DeMolay members alone; it was a unified event that brought together various Masonic Youth groups. Supreme Deputy Mahalia Mariano Borja of the Grand Assembly of the Rainbow for Girls Philippines and Associate Grand Guardian Brother Luke Jickain of the Grand Guardian Council of the Philippines, Job’s Daughters International, were in attendance to represent their respective organizations. Their presence underscored the strong bonds and collaborative spirit among the Masonic Youth groups.

Following the flag raising, a sumptuous breakfast was served to all attendees. The rain continued to fall, but it did nothing to dampen the spirits of those present. The dedication and commitment of DeMolay to the Grand Lodge of the Philippines were evident, as no amount of rain could stop the proceedings or diminish the significance of the occasion.

The flag raising ceremony at the GLP Grounds was more than just a ritual; it was a symbol of unity, resilience, and the enduring values that the Masonic Youth stand for. It was a reminder of the important role that organizations like DeMolay, Rainbow, and Job’s Daughters play in shaping the character and leadership qualities of young individuals.

DeMolay, with its motto “Portals of Our Youth in Raising Better Men,” embodies the principles of leadership, character, and citizenship. The ceremony served as a testament to the organization’s commitment to these ideals and its mission to prepare young men to become responsible and productive members of society.

As the breakfast concluded and the attendees dispersed, the sense of community and shared purpose lingered. The Masonic Youth had come together to honor their traditions and to reaffirm their dedication to the values that have guided them for generations. The flag raising ceremony was not only a celebration of their heritage but also a promise of their continued dedication to fostering the growth and development of young people, ensuring that the legacy of leadership and service endures.
