The Supreme Council, Order of DeMolay issued Circular No. 2019-03 (Abella), dated January 10, 2019, reinstating the operations of Jose Abad Santos Chapter under a new Sponsoring Body, the Masonic DeMolay Club, an organization composed of Master Masons in good standing coming from various Masonic Lodges in Metro Manila.
On October 20, 2018, Philippine Bodies & Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, the original Sponsoring Body of Jose Abad Santos Chapter (established on March 23, 1946 as the first DeMolay Chapter in the Philippines), had officially relinquished and surrendered its sponsorship and supervision over the said DeMolay Chapter.
Hon. Edison Abella, Grand Master, and Hon. Evaristo A. Leviste, Grand Secretary and Past Grand Master, of the Supreme Council, Order of DeMolay, signed, attested and sealed the Amended Charter of Jose Abad Santos Chapter and formally issued the said Charter in simple turn-over ceremonies to Brother Albert K. Tan, President of the Masonic DeMolay Club, together with the new members of the Advisory Council, on January 27, 2019 at the Philippine DeMolay Youth Center in Manila.
Afterwhich, Jose Abad Santos Chapter conducted its Public Installation of Officers with Brother Russell Tangeres as the newly installed Master Councilor. Grand Master Abella was the Guest of Honor and Speaker during the affair. DeMolay Legionnaires Romeo P. Ramos, Jurisdictional Deputy Grand Master for Luzon, and Dexter Y. Macrohon, Executive Officer of NCR North, together with the new members of the Advisory Council of Jose Abad Santos Chapter and Senior DeMolays of the DeMolay Chapter, namely: Brothers Ephraim de Mesa, Jose Avelino Magbanua, Deo Reyes, Ronald Gran, Julius Barles, Tony Banu, Paul Santos-Estrella, Solomon Abellera, and Alexander Domingo. also graced the occasion. Parents and other family members also witnessed the installation ceremony.
