Grand Master Mendoza Officially Visits Region 11-D: A Celebration of Leadership and Brotherhood
On July 14, 2024, in General Santos City, a day rich with inspiration, leadership, and camaraderie unfolded as Honorable Grand Master Raymund Joseph Ian “Raji” O. Mendoza officially visited Region 11-D. He honored the occasion of the 5th public installation of officers for Maribulan Centennial Chapter No. 98, Order of DeMolay. This visit came after the successful certification of DeMolay Advisors and the completion of Class Number 3 of the Philippine DeMolay Leadership Academy’s workshop on leadership and management, showcasing DeMolay Philippines’ dedication to cultivating young leadership talents.
The event was a vibrant display of the DeMolay spirit, with Provincial Administrator Atty. Ryan C. Ramos delivering an inspiring message that resonated with the audience. The presentation of inspirations and the Chapter Sweetheart added a touch of romantic excitement to the proceedings, captivating all in attendance.
Grand Master Mendoza took the stage to deliver a heartfelt speech, expressing his gratitude to the Advisory Council for their guidance of the young men of Maribulan Centennial Chapter No. 98 and Frank S. Land Priory No. 9. He also extended his appreciation to Executive Officer Legionnaire Michael Ferdinand Flores for his dedicated work in the region, noting the significant improvement among the DeMolay boys since his last visit.
The Grand Master was accompanied by key members of the DeMolay leadership, including Grand Junior Councilor Legionnaire Eric Atanacio, Grand Fourth Preceptor Legionnaire Clint Esma, and Grand Organist Brother Fatz Buenafe. Their presence underscored the importance of the event and the support of the national leadership for the regional chapters.
The District Deputy Grand Master VW Rey D. Sabino of MD R12-SOCSKSARGEN graced the installation with his esteemed presence. His participation underscores the significance of the event and highlights the strong leadership and commitment within the masonic district.
Representatives from the DeMolay National Congress were also in attendance, including National Master Councilor Brother Fred Atanacio, National Senior Councilor Brother Joaquin Echeverria, Jurisdictional Master Councilor for Mindanao Brother Luis Banaag, and Regional Master Councilor Brother Thomas Jover. Their participation highlighted the unity and collaboration within the DeMolay community.
The event was a testament to the values of DeMolay International, emphasizing the organization’s mission to be the “Portals of Our Youth in Raising Better Men.” Through initiatives like the leadership and management workshops, public installations, and the guidance of dedicated advisors and leaders, DeMolay Philippines continues to make a lasting impact on the lives of young men, preparing them to become leaders and contributors to society.
