Grand Master Mendoza’s Visit to South Cotabato and IPNMC Figueroa

On July 16, 2024, in Koronadal City, South Cotabato, following a weekend of accrediting DeMolay Advisors and installing officers for the Maribulan Centennial Chapter No. 98, Grand Master Raymund Joseph Ian “Raji” O. Mendoza traveled to South Cotabato. Upon his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by his DeMolay Brothers, notably Immediate Past National Master Councilor Brother Vincent N. Figueroa, who also serves as an ex-officio Board Member of South Cotabato and represents Mindanao in the National Youth Commission.

The visit was marked by a pleasant atmosphere, with the windy weather of South Cotabato providing a refreshing backdrop for the gathering. Grand Master Raji took the opportunity to discuss the latest developments and projects of the Supreme Council with the Brothers while engaging in a friendly game of golf.

Joining the Grand Master were Brother Dave Bella of Daguma Mt. Range Chapter No. 65, Brother Sean of Tomas L. Cabili Chapter No. 13, Brother Jay Olay of Cagayan Valley Chapter No. 35, and Brother Vincent Figueroa of Koronadal City Chapter No. 91. The camaraderie among the DeMolay members was evident as they shared insights and enjoyed each other’s company.

Coincidentally, the province of South Cotabato was in a festive mood, celebrating the 25th T’nalak Festival and its 58th foundation anniversary. The vibrant celebrations added to the spirit of the occasion, showcasing the rich culture and traditions of the region.

Grand Master Mendoza’s visit underscored the importance of DeMolay’s mission: “Portals of Our Youth in Raising Better Men.” The organization’s commitment to fostering leadership and character development among young men was evident in the interactions and discussions that took place during the visit.

As the day came to a close, the DeMolay Brothers in South Cotabato were inspired by the Grand Master’s presence and the exchange of ideas. The visit served as a reminder of the enduring values and principles that DeMolay stands for, and the role it plays in shaping the future of its members.

The gathering was not just a meeting of minds but a testament to the strong bonds and shared vision that unite DeMolay members across the country. As they parted ways, each Brother was left with a renewed sense of purpose and dedication to the DeMolay cause.
