Filipino DeMolay Singapore Alumni Chapter #46 Hosts a Memorable Gathering
On a beautiful day last August 5, 2024, the Filipino DeMolay Singapore Alumni Chapter #46 (FDSAC#46) hosted a gathering that was nothing short of extraordinary. This event was not just a celebration; it was a heartfelt reunion of brothers from different chapters and distinguished guests, showcasing the strong bonds and camaraderie within the Masonic Family community.
The venue for this memorable event was the idyllic 25 Sin Ming Road BBQ pit, which also happens to be the residence of FDSAC#46’s Past President, Brother Andy Baga. The lush surroundings provided the perfect backdrop for an afternoon filled with warmth, laughter, and brotherhood.
Brothers from the Cebu DeMolay Alumni Chapter No. 18 and Mactan Sugbu DeMolay Alumni Chapter No. 73 were among the honored guests, along with members of the Crescent Masonic Lodge No. 419, their worshipful master, Wardens, members and their wives. The presence of these esteemed guests highlighted the deep connections that transcend geographical boundaries within the Masonic Family.
FDSAC#46 spared no effort in making every aspect of the event unforgettable. The pinnacle of the afternoon’s festivities was the spread of authentic Filipino dishes that adorned the table. This included the delectable Bacolod chicken inasal, the flavorful chicken adobo, the comforting chicken tinola, and a variety of grilled fish and pork, each dish a reflection of the chapter’s commitment to presenting the finest of Filipino culinary traditions and hospitality.
The program kicked off with an opening prayer led by Brother Noah Caoile, a chartered member of FDSAC#46 who has since moved to Cebu. His prayer set the tone for an afternoon filled with gratitude and reflection. The surprise appearance of Brother Jess Lava III, a past president and chartered member who journeyed from Manila, added an emotional depth to the gathering. His presence was a reminder of the enduring ties that bind the members of FDSAC#46.
As the evening began to set, the attendees gathered in a circle to introduce themselves. This simple yet powerful act fostered a sense of unity and brotherhood that is at the core of the DeMolay experience. The evening concluded with a joyous round of singing and karaoke, turning Brother Andy Baga’s home into an impromptu concert hall filled with music and laughter.
The visitors were visibly moved by the warm hospitality extended by the members of FDSAC#46, especially by the current president, Brother Dennis Rotas, officers and members. Their meticulous planning and genuine care ensured that every guest felt welcomed and valued.
As the night drew to a close, it was clear that the gathering at FDSAC#46 was more than just a milestone event. It was a living embodiment of the values and principles that DeMolay stands for. The enduring friendships and the strong sense of community that were evident throughout the day are a testament to the lasting impact of the DeMolay experience.
As the attendees departed, they carried with them not just memories of good food and fellowship, but also a renewed sense of brotherhood and belonging. The gathering at FDSAC#46 was a celebration of the past, a reaffirmation of the present, and a hopeful look towards the future of the DeMolay community.
