On August 31, 2024, in the vibrant city of Davao, the DeMolay Alumni Association of the Philippines (DAAP) hosted another successful event—the 3rd Multi-Jurisdictional Forum of Southern, Eastern, and Central Mindanao. The forum was a significant gathering that brought together DeMolay alumni from various regions to discuss important issues and initiatives within the organization.
The event was graced by the presence of DAAP National President, Legionnaire Melvin “Supremo” M. Calimlim, who presided over the forum. His leadership and dedication to the DeMolay cause were evident as he facilitated the proceedings with enthusiasm and purpose.
The highlight of the forum was the presence of the Honorable Grand Master Raymund Joseph Ian O. Mendoza, who was the guest of honor. Grand Master Mendoza took the opportunity to share with the participants the current programs and initiatives of the Supreme Council. He discussed the importance of engaging Past Active DeMolays, the expansion of DAAP alumni chapters, and the exciting prospect of a gathering of Senior DeMolays scheduled for 2026. This gathering is expected to be a landmark event that will bring together DeMolay members from different generations to celebrate their shared values and achievements.
The Supreme Council was well-represented at the forum, with the attendance of Honorable Past Grand Master Adriano “Django” B. Durano III, Grand Preceptors Legionnaire Clint Esma and Legionnaire Kenneth Tan, Grand Standard Bearer and Alumni Chapter President of Feliciano Iñigo Chapter No.1 Legionnaire Joy Flores and Grand Organist Brother Fatz Buenafe. Their presence underscored the importance of the event and the commitment of the Supreme Council to the growth and development of DeMolay in the Philippines.
The forum was not just a platform for discussion but also an opportunity for networking and fellowship among DeMolay alumni. The atmosphere was filled with camaraderie and a shared sense of purpose as members exchanged ideas, shared experiences, and renewed their commitment to the organization.
The theme of the forum, “DeMolay: Portals of Our Youth in Raising Better Men” resonated with the attendees. It served as a reminder of the organization’s mission to develop young men into leaders with strong moral character and a sense of community service. The forum discussions reinforced the belief that DeMolay provides a unique pathway for personal growth and development, preparing its members to become responsible and contributing members of society.
As the forum concluded, there was a sense of accomplishment and optimism among the participants. The successful event was a testament to the strength and vitality of the DeMolay Alumni Association of the Philippines. The organization continues to thrive, thanks to the dedication of its leaders and members, who are committed to upholding the values and traditions of DeMolay.
