On June 29, 2024, in Chicago, Illinois, Grand Master Raymund Joseph Ian “Raji” O. Mendoza showcased his support and leadership by participating in the installation of officers for Pilipinas Lodge No. 1180, A. F. & A. M. This special event united Filipino Masons and DeMolays, strengthening their sense of community and common goals.
Accompanied by Grand Standard Bearer Joy Flores, Grand Representative for Illinois Eric Delmo, and Deputy Grand Representative Vince Sy, GM Mendoza’s presence added a special touch to the proceedings. The gathering was also notable for the attendance of Ill. Macario “Jun” Ramos Jr., the son of Founding Grand Master of DeMolay Philippines, Dad Macario R. Ramos Sr., highlighting the deep historical connections within the Filipino Masonic and DeMolay communities.
During the installation ceremony, GM Mendoza took the opportunity to announce the Supreme Council’s recognition of immediate Past Master Richard Felicelda’s outstanding philanthropic efforts. Brother Felicelda, an Honorary DeMolay, has made significant contributions to the community, and his work was duly acknowledged by the Grand Master.
GM Raji also extended a personal invitation to the brethren to attend the November 2024 Special Session in Cagayan De Oro City, scheduled from November 8 to 9, 2024. This invitation underscored the importance of continued participation and engagement within the DeMolay community.
The event in Chicago was a testament to the enduring bonds of brotherhood and the shared mission of DeMolay: “Portals of Our Youth in Raising Better Men.” Through such gatherings, DeMolay Philippines continues to inspire and uplift its members, fostering a culture of leadership, service, and excellence.
As the installation ceremony concluded, the attendees were left with a sense of pride and belonging, knowing that they are part of a fraternity that values tradition, recognizes achievement, and encourages active involvement in the betterment of society.
