Dr. Manuel S. Bernardo Chapter No. 18 proudly celebrates its 50th founding anniversary in Tacloban City, Leyte, marking five decades of brotherhood, leadership, and service under the banner of the Order of DeMolay.
Gracing this momentous event are Hon. Grand Master Raymund Joseph Ian “Raji” O. Mendoza, National Junior Councilor Brother Kyle Balbin, and Jurisdictional Master Councilor for Visayas Brother Francis Llanos, who will officially visit and honor the Chapter’s golden milestone.
This historic celebration follows a year of significant anniversaries within the DeMolay Philippines community including the 50th anniversary of Dionisio Gutierrez Sr. Chapter No. 15 in Cotabato City last year and Wadih C. Saab Chapter No. 16 in Cagayan de Oro City earlier this year. During these visits, the Supreme Council gifted each Chapter by institutionalizing the singing of Mother’s Pride in every stated meeting and formal event, a tradition that strengthens the fraternity’s shared values and heritage.
Founded by the dedicated Master Masons of Tacloban City, led by Illustrious Santiago L. Chua, Dr. Manuel S. Bernardo Chapter No. 18 has produced outstanding leaders in various fields. Among them is Hon. Past Grand Master Edward Y. Chua, who presently serves as the Sovereign Grand Commander of the Scottish Rite Freemasonry in the Philippines, the Worthy Grand Patron of the Grand Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Grand Secretary of DeMolay Philippines, a true testament to the Chapter’s legacy of leadership and excellence.
