On September 28, 2024, at Sydney Town Hall in Sydney, Australia, the Supreme Council, Order of DeMolay of the Republic of the Philippines, headed by The Honorable Grand Master Raymund Joseph Ian “Raji” O. Mendoza, undertook a momentous trip to Sydney to attend a landmark event in the history of Freemasonry. This event was the installation of MW Bro. B. Khristian Albano as the Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory.
Grand Master Mendoza was accompanied by a distinguished delegation, including Deputy Grand Master Albert Manlulu, Grand Junior Councilor Eric Atanacio, Grand First Preceptor Francis Boñales, Grand Organist Fatz Buenafe, Grand Representative for New Zealand South Pol Candia, Executive Officer Edwin Ubungin, and National Master Councilor Fred Atanacio. Joining the delegation was Provincial Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother Benny Ty of the Royal Order of Scotland, a Past Active DeMolay and a life member of the Supreme Council, Order of DeMolay.
MW Bro. Albano’s installation marks a pivotal moment for Freemasonry in Australia and the broader DeMolay community. As the batch leader of “We Are Masons,” the pioneering batch of DeMolay Philippines’ Past Active DeMolay program, MW Bro. Albano embodies the values and principles that DeMolay and Freemasonry stand for. His leadership is a testament to the enduring legacy of these organizations in raising better men and contributing to the betterment of society.
The presence of the Philippine delegation underscores the strong bonds and shared vision between DeMolay and Freemasonry across different nations. It is a celebration of brotherhood, leadership, and service that transcends borders.
